€–€€ Arrusti & Mangia – Fiumefreddo (Catania) Spectacular local dishes and grilled meats. Don’t expect a fancy setting – you won’t find one, but you will have some of the best meat of your life. Lovely staff too.

€€€ Taverna La Cialoma – Ortigia (Siracusa) – Michelin starred and with good reason. Exceptional in every way.

€ Il Canneto – Stromboli (Isole Eolie) – Amazing granita & brioche, try local flavours like Fico d’India or Gelso. You can almost always try a little before buying. Ask for panna on the top if you feel like a real treat.

€€ Antica Focaccia San Francesco, Palermo. – Hands down the BEST arancine and other local street food. We couldn’t leave Palermo without first going here. Should be a mandatory stop for all.

€€ Borgo San Nicolao – Randazzo (Catania) – This restaurant is at one of our favourite agriturismi (farm stays) which we highly recommend. Exceptional local food prepared freshly with the ingredients from their land. Think organic veg, fresh bread, their own wine, eggs from their hens. No faults. 10/10

€€ Trattoria La Matrice – Sciacca (Agrigento) – Beautifully prepared local delicacies enjoyed while people watching in Piazza Duomo. Great overall experience.
